SUMMARY

The AHPR team at SDR started in 2023 and provides an opportunity for members to further their skills in key aerospace disciplines such as composites manufacturing, rocket design and launch operations. This is done through participation in ambitious, club-funded amateur rocketry projects after completing the intro team. In its first two years, our team designed, built and launched supersonic two-stage rockets with maximum altitudes exceeding 35k feet.

In the 2025-2026 academic year, AHPR will collaborate with the experimental solid propulsion team to design, manufacture and launch high performance scratch-built 3 and 4 inch rockets capable of reaching Mach 3 and 60k feet.

NAUTILUS SPECIFICATIONS:

About AHPR

AHPR is currently working on a two stage rocket that is forecasted to reach Mach 3 and a max altitude of 60,000 feet.
None of it would be possible without the hard work of our amazing team of ASU students, who volunteer their time to help us smash the sound barrier.
AHPR uses industry-grade materials to achieve a finely tuned balance of lightweight vehicles that can stand up to the extreme forces of supersonic flight.
The team also uses advanced techniques to fabricate purpose-built components for its rockets.
